"billionaire-funded Republican Noise Machine..."? Get your facts straight. It's the mega-billions funded by leftists like George Soros who make the noise machine that most Americans despise.
What we need is a return to real journalism. Today we are inundated with alot of, sorry to say, crap. People want to hear the truth and they can smell the other a mile away. "Just the facts, ma'am." Why must we hear ad nauseam all about A-Rod or the Kardashians or what just happened to Lindsay Lohan and the leftist slant regarding the Zimmerman case. In between on our local news all we hear about is violence: rape, shootings, knifings, robberies. Is there no decency left? There are plenty of good people, but, hey, it's all about money today and those things just don't sell news. The leftists in the mainstream media know what they are doing in controling the information. That's why we don't hear about all the violence being done to Christians, notably Copts, in Egypt. It's other news outlets: Catholic and other Christian media, talk radio, to name some, which have reported on the attocities of the burning of churches and christian schools, beheading of priests, force marching of nuns labeled "prisoners of war", gang-rapings of young christian girls, attempts of forced conversions to islam. There was a large demonstration of American Coptic Christians in Nashville recently. Was it covered by any of the mainstream media outlets? No. But it was on the internet. We also can learn of these things via foreign news outlets such as the UK Guardian. But American newscasters are mum on the subject. I guess we ought to call them "Pravda" because they seem to function much like the news media of the old Soviet Union which, I fear, we are devolving into. What a shame!

Seems the "Reasonable One" is hardly reasonable and the quotes he gives are taken out of context. Just what, o "RO", do you think a late abotion consists of? Beck merely put in the details that President Obama omitted because he doesn't want to recognize the tremendous barbarism and cruelty that actually occur in this procedure. I hope and pray for our people's sake that this heinous action of abortion which takes a life, sometimes more than one, including the mother's, will one day be consigned to the past with all the other horrific acts of violence against humanity. I think 55+ million victims is enough, don't you?
Problem is: who gets to decide what is "hate" speech? Before, it was simply remarks against someone because of their race, color, religion, national origin, to which have been added gender, sexual orientation (or disorientation if you are still deciding). Age used to figure in, but has long since been cast aside. Religion doesn't seem to matter anymore unless one is a non-Christian, non-Jew or just plain non-believer. So who gets to decide? The example given of Dr. Tiller is poor: the man WAS a "baby killer" since he performed late-term abortions, though I don't ever recall Bill O'Reilly advocating for someone to kill him. Seems the facts (as usual when presented by leftists) need to be checked. But it seems that abortionists are exempt from any criticism, but not those who stick up for the rights of the unborn. Yes, they DO have rights. The left has created the myth of abortion being a "right" -show me that in the founding documents. You won't find it, but you will find "we hold these truths to be self-evident (ie, everyone ought to recognize them), that all men (the term then was inclusive) are created equal (=no discrimination), that they are endowed by their Creator (oops! reference to God) with certain unalienable (=non-negotiable) rights, that among these are: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness..." Without LIFE, the other rights don't exist. I have heard far more "hate speech" out of the mouths of people supporting abortion on demand and out of the mouths of leftists. These I refuse to label as "liberal" (which used to mean "open-mindedness") or "progressive" since the idiotic ideologies they ascribe to do NOT bring PROGRESS, but REGRESS. I guess they could be called "regressives"! Let Mr. Limbaugh, Mr. O'Reilly, Mr. Beck speak, as it is their constitutional right and it is the constitutional right of their audiences to listen. I have heard more truthful statements out of them then I have from many a mainstream media "journalist". Whine all you want, but leftist radio propaganda is just not popular. People are tired of the same old angry, slanted dribble they are already hearing from the mainstream media, from Hollywood, etc. Let the media be an open market or, if you will, a marketplace where everyone can speak and listen. Just don't complain because certain ones get pelted with rotten tomatoes. They deserve them.

You might try moving, say, to Saudi Arabia or Yemen. Then you would appreciate the freedoms which we enjoy here.
The problem is we seem to be so adolescent about sex -too much of it on the air. And the envelope gets pushed back more and more. It's in nearly every sit-com -99% of which are NOT funny, especially when employing the sexual inuendos. It's in too many commercials and newscasts. Our society is hardly "puritanical". But if we had more respect for the human body and for self and others, a more "elevated" speech instead of in the gutter, we'd probably have a more mature and content people. The graceless depiction of the human body, the reduction of man and woman to their genitalia, the mindless, loveless, artless presentation in hollywood and the media serve only to further abase the human being, women in particular. Moreover, as children are often exposed to this, they are robbed of their innocence and dignity. BTW: good definition of "pornography" is the use of something when the original use has been forgotten or set aside.

...and you will never have "neutrality" in speech. This is only another ploy to get big government more and more into our lives because they would have to take it over eventually. Let the tweeked geeks have their sophisticated equipment -if they can pay for it. As for me, I'll stick with broadcast, mainly the local since I do rely on that for important things like weather, etc.
No way! I have never had cable, nor do I want it. I'll take my converterbox and antenna over cable or dish any day.I know people who are getting rid of cable because it's too expensive and you get alot of junk with only a few good channels. The sports empires would like us all to get it because they want more money and get more than they would from network TV. I remember when ALL our ballgames were aired over local affiliate networks. People are tired of all the claptrap. The airwaves should be free. And we DO know where we can get straight info, as we KNOW the talking heads on the main three nightly news are just handing out the same old dribble. Besides internet, there's RADIO!!!!

This is unconstitutional. The Federal Government has NO right to force people to buy anything. It amazes me that such a thing as "Obamacare" could even be passed for the same reason.
