Content Creators and Distributors should be kept separate

Currently individuals who create much of the content also have huge stakes (or are co-owned, i.e. NBC / Comcast) with distribution channels.
This clearly creates a conflict of interest and hurts the consumer. Large telecoms that produce content have clear incentives to hamper the distribution of other legal media, and it is already happening!
Comcast limits the data transfer for their internet service, while ironically having no limits on the amount of their own IPTV that can be viewed. This anticompetitive behavior puts innovative companies like netflix and hulu at a disadvantage unfairly, while also hampering other legal uses of the internet.
