  1. The FCC should be able to investigate Cable Companies that refuse to negotiate or carry a News Channel simply because they don't want to.

Cable channels should not be allowed to refuse to carry a NEWS channel, simply because they don't like the name. I know a MAJOR cable company that gets several thousand requests to carry a NEWS channel and give the stock answer "We will submit a channel request to our programmers" when they have no intention of EVER negotiating or adding the channel. yet they have no problem adding JUNK channels that nobody wants.

    • Ala carte cable TV

Cable TV pricing has got completely out of hand. My provider just raise their rates again claiming the higher price of rebroadcasting services over cable. Their packages and bundles do little to curb the prices paid by their subscribers, plus their reaping the benefit of advertising dollars as well as subscription fees. A number of years ago, the FCC said cable/satellite providers "could" offer ala carte pricing. That is, you pay for what you actually use. In order to get the few channels I actually watch (about 15 of them)I have to subscribe to over 200. I would gladly pay…

      • Regulate fees for high speed internet in areas where only one provider exists

In my city there a handful of cable internet providers but once I explore options in my particular area there is a perfect drop off of coverage of all other carriers but one. When there is no competition it is a monopoly. (Note: Satellite and ISDN are unacceptable high speed options to me, cable is the only acceptable option.) FCC should present coverage maps in urban areas by type of service. Where only one option exists, an FCC-determined affordable rate internet option should be offered for an adequate data transfer rate.

            • educate the older generation to the computer world although some seem slow it is because they are, they weren't exposed to the tech world

There approach needs to build positive jobs for everyone. This is a program that could bring communities together and bridge generations to gain an amicable blessing from both sides. everything has become so despondent and non personal. the media needs to be more educational to the general public rather than action packed and emotional rollercoasters. the new reality series of the HD world..inclusive of maybe two or three news casters in collaboration of present scenes - the past is to permeable and stale and quickly "been there" heard it. it needs to change its delivery and approach to embody everyones…

              • Limit Commercials

I would like to see a ruling that would limit commercials to 10% of the air time. If it is a 1 hour show then you get 6 minutes of commercials.

                • HLN is a travesty to justice with their coverage of trials..Their coverage tainted the jury of the Jodi Arias case in Phoenix AZ. T

HLN should be fined and NEVER allowed to cover a trial again ever. Their coverage is a miscarriage of justice in the worst way. HLN has created a HATE GROUP against Jodi Arias and her entire defense team, and even professional witnesses.

                  • ESPN should be a PAY Channel like HBO

the FCC should IMMEDIATELY require that ESPN become a PREMIUM channel and require a PAID SUBSCRIPTION in order to get it - just like HBO. let the people that WANT ESPN PAY FOR ESPN. i will take a reduction in my cable bill of the $5.54 and let the people that want ESPN pay whatever it takes. STOP making people and GRANDMAS SUBSIDIZE a channel which they do not watch. STOP forcing people to SUBSIDIZE OUTRAGEOUS SPORTS SALARIES.

let the FREE MARKET work. any cable channel that charges cable companies more than 2.5X the average of all cable channels should…

                      • Local networks always free

Pay providers should be obliged to provide the major local networks at no additional cost to the consumer. In order to do this, they would have to be provided this programming from the local stations for free. The networks should be making money from commercials, so commercial-skipping software would have to be illegal. This would stop pay tv providers from blacking out local stations which provide emergency information about weather, etc.

                        • Bring in differant cable providers into our areas

I moved to Little Ferry, NJ. I wish that Cablevision could come here. They have Time Warner. Can't they share the area and let the people decide what they want as there cable provider? I want Cablevision. I live near the border of Hackensack, NJ. People, why not let us decided who we want. Cablevision gives free movies tickets every Tuesday as part of there rewards. You may call to find this out. Only Cablevision does this. I have Verizon. But I still do not back down on wanting Cablevision.

                              • Report of a recent event

Per dictionary.com, the definition of news is a "Report of a recent event. That to me means a plane crash in Virginia, a tornado in Texas, or an earthquake in Japan.

Opinions are not news, they are the beliefs of an individual or group. The networks have confused the two. I have no problem with either one but they must be defined and controlled separately by stating what it is up front as news or opinion.

                                • There should be consequences for media companies who purposely misrepresent information.

NBC recently portrayed a totally different situtation on a 911 call by simply putting two seperate parts together and leaving out others. How can this be go unanswered by NBC to the American people? This is a HUGE situation! These companies are trying to run our country! I am not quite sure of how it should be totally regulated and safe guard our freedoms as well. BUT truth is truth and lies are lies that should not be allowed. They are changing OUR great America! • Charge broadcasters license fees of 10% of their revenues. Then award ($) journists for good works!

Charge corporations 10% for their license to broadcast, but use much of it to hold ongoing large cash awards or grants to journalists who get it right based on votes of journalists editors and professors of journalism.

This will make sure rewards are even and fair, rather than Rupert, absurd and wrong.

                                      • Media companies should ask the people

The media only puts out what they want and says it however they want. I think, for a change, the media companies should ask the people what they are interested in hearing, since it is the people they are trying to get the information to. I also think that the media should tell the things how they really are. There should be a law against the media from leaving out information and from modifying it to their convenience. The media should talk with the truth.

                                        • Content Creators and Distributors should be kept separate

Currently individuals who create much of the content also have huge stakes (or are co-owned, i.e. NBC / Comcast) with distribution channels.
This clearly creates a conflict of interest and hurts the consumer. Large telecoms that produce content have clear incentives to hamper the distribution of other legal media, and it is already happening!
Comcast limits the data transfer for their internet service, while ironically having no limits on the amount of their own IPTV that can be viewed. This anticompetitive behavior puts innovative companies like netflix and hulu at a disadvantage unfairly, while also hampering other legal uses of…
