Why does the media glorify and reward the convicted drug dealer Shapelle Corby. The media doesn't realise the damage Shapelle was doing smuggling drugs, damages that drugs do to our children and yet the MEDIA would reward her.

The Technology is an increasing part of today’s culture, especially for children and youth, it is educated people and family members responsibility to control and set limit to use of machines in order to live healthy and safe lives. FCC and Department of food and drug administration should force for health warning from internet service providers to issue addiction for health and safety reasons. Internet service providers should not support fake chat rooms and social networking users to keep innocent public busy for numbers of user policy.

We have experienced that children's and youth who spend many hours playing games , texting , social networking or constantly using cell phones have these basic problems feeling upset, stressed, anxious, depressed , emotional , psychological symptoms, Looks down and miserable,Tired, sleepy, Moody, Irritable, Sad, Anxious, Overly sensitive and worried,Changes in mood, Seems different,Suppresses emotion,Physical symptoms, Change in sleeping habits, not being able to sleep or can’t wake up, Change in eating habits, less healthy patterns, Physical symptoms, Bowel upsets, feeling sick, shortness of breath, headaches, stomach pain, skin rash, Panic attacks,Behaviors ,Change in their normal behavior or habits,Lack of interest in things normally interested in, Not answering phone or responding to communication attempts, Crying ,Not engaging much in conversation or discussion,Withdrawing from social activities,Hard excessive partying,Increasing use of alcohol and drugs, coffee, smoking,Skipping classes ,deterioration in grades, Self destructive, not caring about themselves or their safety, lack of family activities.

The local newspaper in Gray, Georgia which is a town with less than 5,000 residents, refuses to remove public arrest records from its online version even after notifying residents that the paper's policy is for removal after 6 weeks.

This newspaper's outright refusal to comply with its own policies is an abuse of Freedom of the Press and Reporter's Privilege. The owner's sole purpose for keeping these records online for longer than 6 weeks is to embarrass and defame, and this should be against the law.

Morganton, North Carolina

Morganton, NC, has a Mayor who after 28 years in office, continues to show his AUTHORITY by not only getting Morganton City Council to "change" the Public Comment policy and ONLY allow citizen comments during a SPECIAL 30-minute time frame just before the start of the monthly City Council Meeting, but twice now, one local citizen, a doctor and taxpayer who signed up to speak experienced a DEAD MICROPHONE during his allotted 3-minutes at Morganton City Council Monday Night. The doctor has worked hard and obtained more than 1600 signatures on a "recall petition" to REMOVE Mayor Mel Cohen who continues to want to be mayor, while ONLY being interested in an ELITE few here in Morganton.

Morganton has a 30% poverty rate, 13% unemployment and one of the richest mayors in the US.

A number of citizens and taxpayers have continued to contact Charlotte, NC area media outlets to obtain attention and support, but so far little to no assistance. What must we do to get others out there to see our problem and help us ?

We read about other mayors, Rob Ford in Toronto, Canada, and the former San Diego Mayor who is no more, but we have a DICTATOR if there ever was a dictator in Mayor Cohen here in Morganton, NC.

I have Dish Satellite tv. I live in Kentucky, but my 'local' stations are from Tennessee. Now, Tennessee news is interesting up to a point, but not what I want to see or hear. The satellite reception is good, but I don't receive local news or weather. The Tennessee stations do not give weather for my location and do not follow severe weather warnings and watches. This can be critical in some incidents when high water or ice storms are imminent. If it is the law that I receive these stations, then why are they not required to give me local news and weather? I would also prefer to receive Kentucky Educational Television on the PBS station. Is there a plan in the future to change this policy?

There is nothing new about broadband in rural America. FCC should recognize most of America is rural. I think if a company can provide 100T to Paris and London it should also be able to adequately serve the rural areas it pretends to serve. I know of two small communities outside of the last mile that have no landline, no cable, and no cell tower in range.

Companies say this a business decision. I say it a travesty to not be able to call 911 from home.

I live in a rural county dominated by crop and cattle. Our Internet is a duopoly of phone companies. One sells cable and VOIP the other sells DSL and landline.. Both are expensive. If service was superior the cost would be tolerable. it isn't but we have no choice as there is no competition.

I live in a location that cannot receive the local radio. My solution was to purchase the NPR Livio Radio. It gives me all the access I need to news. The balance i can read in a local and regional papers.

I'm disabled, and I was on wait lists to get into a handicap community if you know about it the lists are long. I finally got into a nice community in Orange, Mass. I have one problem with the area, a huge one. The only cable company in this area is Time Warner Cable! If anyone reading this is disabled (walking just one of many)you know what T.V. can mean to me. To make this short I moved in one month ago, and my bill is a grand total $297.42. This is how my bill reads...06/07 Previous balance last statement $201.14, I moved in on 06/07 Partial month charge 06/07-07/05 Starz $10.96, 06/013-07/05 Basic $6.61, Standard $6.79, Digital Tier -$4.61(credit) HBO $4.11, Cinemax -$4.11(credit) Starz.47, Digital Programming Guide .05, Standard Internet $38.32, Standard Internet -$26.16(credit) Cable Box $6.12, Cable Box -$6.12(credit) Turbo Internet (never ordered) -$5.11, DVR Service -$6.65 (credit) 06/14-07/05 Basic -$6.63(credit) Standard Service -$7.77(credit) Standard Internet-$12.73 (credit) Total partial month charges -$6.46 Make Sense? CURRENT MONTHLY SERVICE 07/06-08/05 $102.44 this includes Standard Internet, over 70 channels of round the clock entertainment etc....Cable box $7.99, Remote .50, Modem Lease $4.99, Taxes & Franchise Fee, Sales Tax, Public Access Fee $4.82 I get all of this for the low price of $120.42 I have until July 18 to pay total $297.42! Again I moved in a month & 6 days ago. I also have no phone with them, this is a Cable & Internet Bundle. Comcast just gave my daughter as a new customer a 2 year contract with every pay channel, internet, phone, and a $300.00 gift card for 5 rooms, total $189.00 month, but she has every company out there to choose from! So is this fair, what can I do? I've called 6x calls last over an hour, and I get a free headache LOL.

Dear FCC, I am writing you in response to the upcoming renewal of the broadcasting liscense for 105.3 “The Fan” radio station in Dallas, Texas. I understand that the public is encouraged to voice concerns about the station to the FCC prior to the renewal of their liscense. I am writing to inform you that this station, like many talk radio stations in this country, discriminates against the hiring of young African-American broadcasters.
Like many talk radio stations, they’ve tried to mask their hiring agenda by only hiring African-Americans that only cary a specific stature such as former athletes or blacks that already hold important well –known titles such as tv personalities, retired professional sports athletes, etc. This same standard is not held towards up-and-coming Caucasian broadcasters. It’s ironic that most of the athletes that this station covers are African-American but they only have one black broadcaster on the station. And of course, this black broadcaster is a well-known employee of the local Dallas Mavericks. This is a troubling trend in radio because African-Americans are not given the same opportunities to pursue a career in radio as their white counterparts.

I’ve noted some reasons as to why 105.3 “The Fan” does not give opportunities to up-and-coming African-American broadcasters:

African-American broadcasters do not have the “typical sound” that the Program Director looks for which unfortuately subconsciously discriminates against blacks.

Program Directors subconsciously believe suburban listeners will not listen to a voice unlike their owns.

Because of these beliefs and the hiring practices of this station and many other talk stations – I do not believe it operates in the best interest of the public. I hope that these concerns will be raised and addressed with 105.3 “The Fan” (CBS Radio) as well as others like 103.3 ESPN (KESN) and 1310 “The Ticket” (KTCK) among others.

We are a very rural community that is located on Lake Gaston. We are having major issues with our long distance and wireless calls coming in. Our community is full of locally owned businesses that survive solely through communicating with our customers on the telephone. As a matter of fact, during this time of the year 80% of our business is from telephone calls. Since, Bracey borders the Virginia and North Carolina state line 3/4 of our customers are from North Carolina. We have filed complaints with everyone we know to complain to. Something has got to be done with this useless service that we are paying for.

I don't have much to say but needless to say.....Cox communications is the only provider we have in majority of South Louisiana and we have no other providers to choose from so Cox is raping us and hitting us all over the head with their ridiculous charges and of course they don't have to offer competitive prices because they have no COMPETITION. Again, if the FCC would step in regulate this monopoly, I think Cox would definitely be a more economical and cost effective service provider and realize that they do have competition because in other major metropolitan areas, there is plenty of competion such as Infinity, Clear, ATT-Uverse, Verizon Communications. if the FCC would just open the market for at least one other provider....watch how drastically COX stocks would fall because they have alot of unhappy customers here but they are definitely a company that doesn't care.....as long as they have the politicians and local government behind they're back, they feel as though they are exempt and the rules doesn't apply and I just think the FCC/federal government should really step in and take control because its unfair and unjust to tell consumers how and where they can spend they're money. They're not saying this directly but you know people are going to want to enjoy the luxury of cable and internet is a necessity....but when you know you don't have competition and there are no other options.....the writing is clearly on the wall what's being said.....

The only local news I receive are Memphis,Tn. stations. I have Dish satellite and have spoken with them and they say it is FCC regulations. I have bought a digital antenna but the Cape Girardeau,Mo. KFVS-12 station is to far to get a reliable signal. Are any other options available?
