        The technology obviously exists to enable each cable TV subscriber to choose a specific set of channels. Clearly, some channels might cost more than others.

        It is time for a free market approach:
        1] If there are multiple channels addressing a particular market segment (sports, news, natural phenomena, shopping, whatever), then those channels should compete on price.
        2] If no one chooses to watch a particular channel, then that channel should perish.
        3] If one channel is more popular than other channels, then that channel should prosper.

        let consumers choose what channels they want to watch and pay just for those instead of creating tiers with bunch of channels that no one watches
